Since our last update, unfortunately COVID-19 cases have been reported in Malawi. This will undoubtedly put a strain on the already under resourced Malawian healthcare system, we would like to reiterate to communities and colleagues in Malawi that we are in support throughout this difficult time in every way we can.

Like the UK, Malawi has implemented further restrictions to protect the vulnerable against the pandemic. As such we will be putting our building programme temporarily on hold. We will review the programme following government guidance, once restrictions are lifted and we will work toward positively progressing work when it is safe to do so.

During this time, we are:

  • assisting local communities in their efforts to stay safe. We’re liaising closely with the Malawian Government, local education authorities and others to ensure we can help in education provision throughout this disruptive period.

  • positively using this time to build strong relationships and build our own organisation in Malawi to ensure we are in a position to grow our impact in the future through new ways of building , global citizenship programmes and much more.

Can we count on your support to ensure our work continues through these challenging times?
