Thank you to all of our partners and supporters for your help while we have been assessing the implications of the COVID-19 outbreak on the work of Classrooms for Malawi.

Like you all, we are facing unprecedented times and we are trying to stay agile, focused and positive. In the spirit of ‘The Warm Heart of Africa’ we hope to keep some of our school projects on track in Malawi in 2020, we will of course be continually monitoring the situation in Malawi and following official advice around whether and when work can take place on the ground.

Sadly, due to travel restrictions, there will be no Classrooms for Malawi volunteers travelling to participate in projects in Malawi this summer either as part of a school / community group or as part of the Classrooms for Malawi team. We very much appreciate the hard work that has already taken place in preparing the teams, not least the fundraising, support and the significant planning by the team leaders. We appreciate how disappointed you must feel and we will work hard to ensure that your school partner projects still go ahead in Malawi as soon as it is safe to do so. Please remember that we are here to support you and your partnership and that we see you all as members of the Classrooms for Malawi family.

As an organisation, we have carried out a risk analysis relating to the impact of COVID-19 and we will be regularly reviewing this with our staff and board members. At the moment our office in Rutherglen is closed and the team are working from home, if you would like to talk to us please drop us an email at info@classroomsformalawi

Stay Safe - Yendani Bwino 🇲🇼❣️
